I just got some LRS 2+1 a-arms and they fit right in the frame, but where u connect the ball joints into the "??? dont know name" Peice that holds the brakes and the other end of the tie rods fits into. Do i need to buy new ones? The bolts do not fit they are way bigger than the holes made.

The bolt joints in the a-arms and bigger than the stock ones.

that's how it's supposed to work, tighten the nut on the balljoint and everything will be fine. tighten the balljoint crown nuts down to 40lbs and recheck them after about 30 or so hours on the new a arms.

with some a arms sets you have to reem the spindles. make sure they are ok like they are before you run them like that. most places that make a arms now have a standardized size for yamaha spindles. but i know that you used to have to get the spindles reemed.

LSR's used to use ball joints made for Mazda Trucks. Because of the size you needed to reem out the stock holes to match. You can either buy a reemer for $70 or have a shop do it for you. It is relatively easy and takes little time.

here a dumb thought but are you sure the arms are on the spindle the right way ? i had a guy bring me a quad with the upper arms under the spindle, ball joint facing up, he reamed them to fit and when i told him the situation 1.he felt like a dork 2. reamed his spindles for no reason and 3. felt like a dork. what year is your shee and how old are the arms ? that right there will tell you if your spindles need reaming, older arms yes, newer ones no. and like tats said, there meant to fit in there tight, but you should still be able to get at least half the nut on there and just tighten it down to seat it.

my shee is a 01, not sure on a-arms i got them off ebay.

Yes i am sure they are on the right way, I looked at the right side which still has my stock ones connected.

I even looked carfully and you can see without a doubt the lsr a-arm bolts and alot bigger than the stock a-arm bolts.

sounds like you have the old style ball joint which means either ream the spidles and be stuck witth those arms or by new style ball joints and you will not have to ream the spindles?
