BrianEb Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 If you get a set of Toomey's or Pro Circuit Pipes what kind of other perforamce mods are you going to have to buy so your stock engine can handle the new pipes without messing anything up? Someone once told me that you start running into trouble when you start adding performance parts on your machine. Quote
ledofthezep Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 You'll need to rejet. Other than that you don't have to get other mods. I'd most definately suggest a new air filter though. Trash the stock one,...if you got money for pipes, chances are you can afford a new filter also. Sounds like someone doesn't want to get beat! hehe If you don't do things right, then yes you could run into problems, if you take your time & add on the performace parts as they're intended you shouldn't run into problems. DUNEDEMON Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Brian after you install a new set of pipes you only need to re-jet the carbs. The installation of a set of pipes will not create any problems by themselves, who ever informed you that they would "mess something up" probably didn't know banshees. Good luck. Dunedemon. Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 i would go with ledofthezep on this. you really need an air filter. you need to get more air in before you can move it out. that stock thing is junk. pipes and air filter and rejet will wake your banshee up. the only thing that pipes are gonna tear up is the other guy when he wants to drag you. just remember that if you do it, do it right.. make sure your jetting is spot on. no sense in gettin pipes if you arent prepared to do some jetting. talk to banchetta on here. he will get you straightened out. The filter I have right now is a GYT- 2-Stage foam filter those are pretty good for all around riding. and if you get new pipes a two stage filter comes with the Toomeys Quote
