Hearing Some Noise In The Pipes

Hey for some reason my banshee sounds like its backfiring it does it alot, you keep

hearing a ping, ping..noise from inside the pipes. I have the right oil/gas mixture in it and new spark plugs and cleaned the filter could it be the carbs please help?

has it always done this? did you just put aftermarket pipes on it? mine make that sound but it is the way it is supposed to sound.

yea sometimes there is a pink thats normal for aftermarket pipes, but i would take off your head and chcck your pistons to make sure part of your skirt didnt break off, and get caught in the pipes, and tingin around

yeah like fmfs and i think toomeys? ive only heard fmfs but they noticabley go ping ping ping and stuff i think it sounds neat i hope my toomeys do that when they come

Most aftermarket pipes are thinner wall so when the airwaves hit it it makes a pinging sound.

Have you done anything like a head mod. I'm thinking it's just the sound of the pipes too, but if you changed the compression or something, you motor may be pre-igniting. Did you rejet for your new pipe?

My ptr mids do that....I'd have to say, they ping more than any other pipe I've heard....Sounds like a Harley w/ 2-stroke sound....

My PC's ping pretty good when reving down from higher RPMS....hence the 'ring DING DING'

I have the Toomey T5's and they ping like crazy...I don't think there is anything wrong with your engine, unless you're feeling a loss in power or performance...Just my thoughts!!!
