sand rocket Posted January 7, 2004 Author Report Posted January 7, 2004 Boonman that would be greatly apreciated! I am going to start the reassemble of the shee in the next week or so and still have some other minor parts to get. I am just waiting on the return of my cylinders from LC Performance, getting the stock carb drag port. I am starting to feel like a teenage kid about to get it for the first time! Quote
Patriot Racing Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 This is JMHO, but I dont like Cometic gaskets. Without the steel core that most have, Ive had issues with Cometic pushing and leaking. Also the Cometic gaskets are MUCH thinner than stock and if Lynn set up your head predicated on a specific deck hgt- you can run into problems. Cant ever go wrong with stock base gaskets. Quote
flea49 Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 YES I AGREE THE COSMETIC ARE ALRIGHT TO USE UNLESS YOUR CYLINDERS ARE FULLY DRAG PORTED AND OR IF YOUR CASES HAVE BEEN PORT MATCHED,BECAUSE THERE IS A LOT LESS SURFACE FOR THE CYLINDERS TO MATE TO THE CASES.AND AFTER YOU HAVE PUT THE CYLINDERS ON AND TORQUED THEM TO ABOUT 12 POUNDS I ALWAYS RUN THE PISTON UP AND DOWN THE CYLINDER TO SEE IF ANY PISTON IS COMING OUT THE TOP AND TO MAKE SURE IT IS COMING TO THE TOP OF THE CYLINDERS.
