SnoRipper Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 I was riding yesterday everything normal plenty of power everything is great. I land off a jump and turn left and gas it as im on the way back to the truck i lose all power and the righty cylinder only pours out white smoke! Left cylinder is fine and it still runs. I thought it was rich and i had fouled a plug but whe i tipped it up on teh grab bar about 1/8 quart of tranny fluid came out the right side silencer. Muffler packing was soaked in tranny oil. What do i need to do to get rolling again. I pretty new to shees but know my way around tearing down a motorcycle engine. Engine mods Pro Design cool head 22cc Big bore domes, 409cc big bore kit, true and welded crank w/ hot rods, 28mm mikuni flat side carbs, Paul Turner mid range pipes. 4degree timing key, barnett clutch kit (stock basket) If i had to guess id say it was the gasket between the case halves is blown. Need help asap!!! Scott Quote
yamaha350 Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 could be you cases are leaking, but more likely your crank seal. easy fix. Quote

SnoRipper Posted January 6, 2004 Author Report Posted January 6, 2004 Any of you know a part number for the crank seal? How easy is it to install? Quote
NYUK Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 yes, the motor needs to come apart. 1 st you need to go buy a clymer manual if you are going to do it your self. Quote
yamaha350 Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 all you need is a tube of yamabond, and some lock-tite. pull the botom off and you can lift the crank enough to slide it on. super easy. clymer manual will help if you have never done it. pm me if you have any questions. should only take an hour at the most if the motor is already out.
