superchicken Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 im looking into a set of ported reed cages,i wanna know what a good price is for them.if the money to labor ratio isnt right ill just break out the old dremmel. Quote
ruff_rida69 Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 I would just use a dremel like i did, its alot easy'er then it sounds, i did mine in probley 45 mins. and it'll save you some money Quote
banshee04le Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 in my opinion, you should either port your own or saveup for the v-forces. if your good with your hands, and you follow the advice on bhq and take your time and concentrate on every bit of material you remove and why you are removing it...you will get good results porting the stock cages and it is not as hard as it sounds. make sure you understand what the related posts and pics are talking about and if any doubt, ask. sorry ruf-rida we must have been posting at the same time Quote
ruff_rida69 Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 it's cool, but heres the site i did my with it has instucions 'sorry can't spell" and really good pictures of how to do it http://www.roostfest.com/cages.htm Quote
superchicken Posted January 5, 2004 Author Report Posted January 5, 2004 let me ask this, ive ported many a small block ford-chevy.ive always polished the intake runners like mirrors.on reed cages ive read that you whant to leave them a little "gritty" to help with fuel atomisation.is this only usefull towards the lower end or all over the rev range? ruff_rida69 Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 I would say all over, but i could be wrong maybe someone on the HQ knows for sure. Quote
