bigboybanshee Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 I remember hearing someone say to let the clutch soak in oil before installation, how long should I let it soak before putting it in? Any other tips/advice is welcome to, this is the first time I've changed the clutch on this thing. THANKS! Quote
BitchenBanshee Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 30 minutes should be sufficient! Just enough to get the plates wet and somewhat soaked! Quote
bigboybanshee Posted December 27, 2003 Author Report Posted December 27, 2003 Thanks BitchenBanshee!! I plan on using plain ol' 10-30 oil, that's what the dealer said to use, most of my friends use it and have no problems so I figured it must be fine..Thanks for the help!!! Quote
blk02banshee Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 I've heard to soak them overnight. Soak them in whatever oil you are going to be running in the gearbox. Quote
Aussie Quad Racer Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 30mins is more than enough. Also sandblast your steel plates, you will get better grip and life from your clutch. also if you have done a few mods to increase performance a set of heavyier clutch springs will be required Quote
bigboybanshee Posted December 28, 2003 Author Report Posted December 28, 2003 Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the tips and advice! I plan on changing it tomorrow so we'll see how it goes. Thanks again! Quote
