moochdog Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 my engine was just rebuilt by dynoedge here in michigan and it runs great. i just noticed today though that when i rev it up sorta high that i get a grinding noise. i have never noticed this before. it shifts smoothly and will not make the noise when in neutral unless its revved up pretty good. has anyone else encountered this? what is it from? thanks Quote
wheeleymaster99 Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 are you sure its in your enigen cuz i've had something like that happin but it was just a loose bolt so see if theres anything loose around your enigen inless your sure its in the enigen Quote
InFlames Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 If it happens when you when you rev then let off the gas then its just the gears banging together,it will also happen if you miss a shift of slip out of gear. Quote
t3racing Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 your crank might be seperating and grinding into the side of your case i would look into it Quote
909 Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 my engine was just rebuilt by dynoedge here in michigan and it runs great. i just noticed today though that when i rev it up sorta high that i get a grinding noise. i have never noticed this before. it shifts smoothly and will not make the noise when in neutral unless its revved up pretty good. has anyone else encountered this? what is it from? thanks Does it sound like a dry grinding or a whirring sound? Does it make the sound with the clutch lever pulled in? I just went through this. That is what mine was doing whirring with the clutch out, in gear and clutch in, no noise. Took off and hit 4th before the bearing froze! Thought it was the motor seizing. Pulled in the clutch and it fired but no roll. I am in the process of putting the RZ trans in now. If it changes with the clutch, its trans related. If not, its motor related. Let us know and we'll see if we can't help. Quote
