b_a_n_s_h_e_e Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 I have called just about every dealership/parts place in my area and each person I talk to reccomends a different paddle. I want an honest opinion of what type of paddle is going to work for me... As you can see in my sig. I have the 20x10x8 Skat Trak Edge tires but they are getting worn down. I want Hauler tires b/c I just had a lot of mods done to my bike. I will be geting my +4 swing arm soon and my bike has recently been ported. I weigh 130 lbs. and am not sure if I should get 9 or 10 paddles. Also, what size rim should I run? I was thinking of 20x10x10 Haulers Some people have recommended 22x10x10 I am really confused, please help! Any pictures of the tires would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks -Troy Quote
MULLET~BOY Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 i would go with 9's i found that the 10's were to much for a gas ported bike Quote
Cotton eyed Joe Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 I've ridden banshee's set up exaclty like mine with 10 paddle 21" Haulers. They go in a straight line real well, but they are a complete bitch to turn. I plan on running 9 paddle 21" Extremes. If I need more bite, I can always air down the rear tires a little. Quote
fah_Q Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 Take a look at my banshee's paddles. they are 21x12x8 8paddle haulers. just click on the link below. I also have more pictures if you want to see them. Quote
spoin39 Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 If you are into big air, get the 8" rims. They give you more tire to cushion the landings. The 10" rims I had were flatspotted all over cause they only had about 2" of sidewall-rim. Quote
wesw Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 i run 20-10-10 10 paddles havent had a problem with them at all. haulers Quote
BitchenBanshee Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 I guess I went through the same thing as you not too long ago! I went with the 21x12x8 on a 8 inch wide rim. The only reason why I dont like the 20's is because of the clearance and tire roundness. When I had my 20's I continually got stuck in the holeshots (off beaten patch places and you have to make a hill climb to get out). The 21's are taller which is better for me. You won't be upset with the above size. It has real nice roundness to it as well as a good bite for drag racing! Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 bitchenbanshee or fan hq is the best way to go with porting and a longer swing arm. Almost every true hill shooter runs what fan hq runs with either smoothies up front or what he has. 20 10 10's are for stock lenght bikes with not too much power. If you dune a lot you can get double buff style for lighter tire. You will have to special order that tire but it is very popular. Quote
thecabinboy Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 not to throw in a ad but I have a set of 20x10x10 8 blade on blue label in great shape I'll let go for $150.00 plus shipping Ninjas are the coolest Quote
FireHead Posted August 1, 2004 Report Posted August 1, 2004 (edited) What are peoples opinions for an all around dune front tire then? Edited August 1, 2004 by FireHead Quote
Justintoxicated Posted August 1, 2004 Report Posted August 1, 2004 (edited) What are peoples opinions for an all around dune front tire then? personaly I like the Sand Skate Fronts, but they are expensive! I will probably try the new ITP Sandstars for my rears, but I don't just drag, I mostly love blazin through the dunes. Skate II's work great for me right now but now that I'm ported I think I may want a little extra bite although not too much more extreme. Everyone on this forum like Skat Tracks, but personaly I like light weight molded tires like the Skate II's. My pair has lasted 4 years and still going and has great performance too, but again I normally don't go in a straight line unless I'm shooting the hill. Right now I'm also running skat track mohawks in the front, if your just going to go straight they are fine, but for my riding I definately want the Skate version or the ITP version in the front. Sandtires unlimited uses a nice light rubber and lower ply which reduces rotating mass so it helps quite a bit, thats why cheaper coppies just aren't the same, of course, shaving the tires is the lightest, they just don't seem to hold up as well. DUNEDEMON Posted August 2, 2004 Report Posted August 2, 2004 (edited) Troy, which bike is this for? Hill shooting or general riding? Long time no talk, how you been? EDIT woops, didn't notice this thread was sooo old.... What are peoples opinions for an all around dune front tire then I love the Sand star fronts for just general duning, responsive as hell, durable and not to pricey.
