bizanchee Posted December 21, 2003 Report Posted December 21, 2003 when do you guys suggest i rebuild my top end? How long can a banshee go before rebuilding? I bought my bike a year ago and run 32:1 castor 927, i rode alot stock and just yesterday put on my toomey t-5's and noss coolhead with 21cc domes........still starts one kick and runs great but how will i know when i have to do piston and rings?will there be a substantial loss in power? Is the time coming soon, or does my engine have alotta life in it? thanks Quote
psd1 Posted December 21, 2003 Report Posted December 21, 2003 Get a compression tester and post the results. The decline in performance may be hard to notice as it usually keeps getting worse little by little. Oncy you hone or bare you will notice the difference. Do the compression test and post back! Quote
BansheeBrian Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 Keep on your jetting like white on rice. Every 20 degrees, jet. You will stay running at peak performance and it will increase the life of your motor and keep you happy. You will gradually notice a power loss if your on your way to a new top end.A scientific sign is if it doesnt wheelie like it used to check you jetting then do your comp. test. Quote
bizanchee Posted December 22, 2003 Author Report Posted December 22, 2003 at see level though where should i be at compression wise with the 21cc domes on a "new top end" roughly so i can calculate when i should re-ring. maybe ill just do it as preventative maintenance Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 rings are bad, you'll notice your compression goin, and ur kick starter will go down with ease, you will probably know Quote
