tommo Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 hey guys, i just bought a new DID xring chain ,14 and 42 size sprockets and sliders and i need to know how many links i need to take out of my chain . my shee has stock everything like swingarm and stuff. any help would be very appreciated as i want to get it running by the weekend. thanks Quote
fixitrod Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 104 links should work. Take it down to 105 first and line it up. If it's to big, 104. Quote
boonman Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 I thread the chain through, pull it taught, and then look at it to see how much needs to be removed. If done right, it should take you less than 5 minutes.... Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 I agree with boonman. Measure first with the adjusters all the way in because you know the chain will stretch the first weekend and then cut it to size. Quote
wheeleymaster99 Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 yeah i got the same chain just put it on there with the adjusters in as far as they go so you can tighten it as it streaches. but get it on there and mark where you want to cut with a marker or something Quote
Justintoxicated Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 if I count silver and gold links I took off 15 from the stock D.I.D. Xring. Im runnning stock siwngarm stock rear sprocket and a 15 tooth up fron't. Should get you close Good luck.. Quote
