Hi, new here.

Interested in porting, I’ve done a fair amount in other 2 strokes. Curious why you guys don’t use timing numbers?

Don't know much about porting so templates sound like good starting point. What do you mean timing numbers, duration and time when and for how long what port is opening?

Yeah pretty much, I use the port opening numbers. I can measure in durations for exhaust and intake but transfer durations elude me.

Do you have a link on how it's done?

I do not, I’ve only ported small single cylinder 2 strokes, chainsaws. But, installing a timing wheel should be the same.

mount the wheel on the crank, set the wheel at tdc with corresponding piston at tdc. Then read port openings. Exhaust roof, transfer roofs, intake floor.
