neiljets Posted June 15, 2019 Report Posted June 15, 2019 (edited) Hey all, Just picked up a 2001 Banshee thats stock, I am new to the model , from what I got from the previous owner the top end was done last year but the bottom end was never done. Cause for concern? I got it pretty cheap , it doesnt look ridden hard , but its not mint just normal wear and tear. Is there anything else I should be looking for? Thanks Edited June 15, 2019 by neiljets Quote
Fearnot Posted June 16, 2019 Report Posted June 16, 2019 Shocks, pipes and porting. If I had to do it all over that's the order I'd do. Pic's are kind of small but if those rears are bald you'll def need a new set. Mostly it depends where and how you ride, if you are drag racing people just throw it all at the motor and chassis setup. Quote
neiljets Posted June 16, 2019 Author Report Posted June 16, 2019 Yeah new rears are a must. Front shocks too. Whats the best bolt front shock with no modifications? Quote

Fearnot Posted June 16, 2019 Report Posted June 16, 2019 Like Claude said it depends on your budget and what you're willing to spend. Most bang for your buck is searching for a used set with compression/rebound adjustments and getting them rebuilt by a pro to your weight and riding abilities. I get mine serviced by Derisi suspension and it was about 200 dollars. As far as just plain best shock around you'll hear answers ranging from Custom Axis, Elka, Ohlins, Motowoz, Exit, Fox etc... Setup is probably going to be the most noticeable difference. Quote
neiljets Posted June 16, 2019 Author Report Posted June 16, 2019 Yeah budget is gonna be very small. Im already restoring a kx 500 that I'm 3 g's deep in. Want a upgrade , just not to break the bank. Only gonna be using it for trail riding in the sand here. Quote
Deadbeat Posted June 17, 2019 Report Posted June 17, 2019 (edited) You need to sell it and buy a blaster and gtfo bruh Edited June 17, 2019 by Deadbeat Quote
neiljets Posted June 21, 2019 Author Report Posted June 21, 2019 Oh ya buy a blaster great idea. Won't take advice from anyone that says bruh Quote
SandSlingerOR Posted June 23, 2019 Report Posted June 23, 2019 Clean quad. Yah if it runs great I'd just get rear tires and a decent pair of after market shocks and wait till the 500 is done, then go crazy on the Shee. Quote
