Polishing Things....

i was thinking, you know how if you polish something and it gets wet that the water will mess the polish, what if i polishe it and then spraied it with a good coat of clearcoat if it will make it stay shiney or would the paint mess up the polish? i am looking in to doing this for my nerfbars and i dont want to polish them up after everytime i ride. well tell me what you all think, thanks, jayare

Get a product called "ZOOPS SEAL". It is a permanant coating that you apply after a good polishing. It soaks in so you don't have to polish again. Works on all alum.

I would guess that a clear coat wouldn't stick very well to a polished surface. The smoother a surface is, the less likely aerosol can spray will stick...That product mentioned sounds like your best bet!

97bansheeboy is absolutely correct. Clear will peel right off. Never tried the zoop seal????

spray clear coat will not only peel it yellows. clear powdercoat may work.i have heard of people doing this with they re cylinders. not sure how it will hold up over time though,.

If you're gonna powder coat, you're just as well to get the silver powder coat. Looks just about like polished aluminum and you don't have to polish it first.

or they have a new clear chrome you could PC it with, john i dont know if i will make it tonight. i am at work now, and i am waiting on my safety guy to get here. they seemed to run a plane into one of the tow tractors, so i could be at work till late
