Oil leak near front sprocket

So it ran fine... twice... then I found a crack by the shift shaft. Used some JB weld steelstik, my mechanic said based on how small the crack is it should be a good and quick fix for the time being

JB weld barely letting oil thru, small drops. Probably going to buy a lower case if I can seal it up.

Leak is stopped. But now it won't run and I'm only getting exhaust from the right side pipe. Plug looks okay, carb isn't that dirty. I don't know what to do

Did you have it tipped up on it's side fixing the oil leak?

Stuck float.

Was the petcock off while it was all a kilter?

Maybe flooded.

The bike lost all compression somehow. This is a nightmare

Now in the process of a top end rebuild. This bike is from hell. I've got a whopping 3 rides in on it, each under 10 minutes.

did you leak down test it after putting all the seals in the motor?   you might have an air leak. 

 

you lost compression on both cylinders or just one?  

 

rather than listen to your mechanic, you should take the advice from here.  its not complicated, and if you spend a few bucks on testers, like the leak down tester, it will save you more money in the long run.

Yeah we did a leak down. Just the right cylinder lost compression. You should see the rings. They're about 1/3 of the width they were supposed to be haha

Finished the top end rebuild. Bike still refuses to start. I don't know what to do at this point. I'm ready to sell it
