kevinh44 Posted July 5, 2017 Report Posted July 5, 2017 Looking for someone in the north Texas area Dallas or Denton area that specializes or knows how to work on banshees. I just picked up a 1999 and would like for someone other than the seller i bought it from to inspect it and go over it and get an experts view or suggestions on what i should do first or what needs to be looked at. I know a little about these but not all the way mechanically inclines. Any leads or numbers of folks that can help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Quote
ginger Posted July 5, 2017 Report Posted July 5, 2017 its not that hard to check the basics. first thing i would check is the compression. then a leak down test. make sure thats all good. then check the jetting. which is done by a spark plug chop. Instructions on how to do all 3 are on this website. but those are the big 3 that i would check. Quote

If so, find out what a similar combo should be jetted at and check that the previous owner doesn't have the wrong jets in it. Time and time again I see guys buy bikes with bolt ons that just don't run right. Then they keep riding it and eventually melt it down before checking jetting specs. Quote
