ScreaminShee01 Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 since my 'shee is in the shop i figured id get some real hp out... id like to do like a 4mm stroker. Could i get away with the stok carbs, and stock clutch or what mods would i have to do to compensate for the power increase of porting/longrod set up? Thanks in advance. Quote
BansheeRider576 Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 Well, the stock clutch will go eventually but in most of my cases i don't replace things like that with aftermarket parts until they need to be replaced... Bigger carbs are not needed but if you do get them look for some pretty big power gains with those mods... also if you don't have them already i highly reccommend v force reeds.... Quote
Proquad101 Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 I would suggest getting bigger carbs at least a 34mm carb if you want to take full advantage of the stroker crank. I run 34pj's on mine I have 4mm stroker with the 5mm longrod crank. About your clutch I would get the fzr600 clutch springs and put 3 of them (alternate) in you bike. The v-force are nice also. What pipes do you have? Quote
ScreaminShee01 Posted December 9, 2003 Author Report Posted December 9, 2003 my apology, i saw that i posted 4mm stroker... when i really meant 4mm long rod... big difference. my fault. This should make my odds a little better with the stock carbs bored out.... cool thanks guys (any other comments are welcome) Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 A long rod motor is a waste of $$$. You wont make any more power. Just get a stroker +4 and get it ported to that size crank. it will be about 400 for the crank and 400 for the porting and 100 for the 795 pistons and 75 for the clutch and 300 for the carbs with the k&n filters with cable.
