Banshee 400 Posted February 11, 2017 Report Share Posted February 11, 2017 I know someone who is selling a 85 tri-z and im debating if i should buy it or not he has owned it since it was new but it has sat up for a long time.Not knowing whats wrong with it would it be worth buying and rebuilding is it gonna cost an arm and a leg? I am building an 85 motor for a customer right now. The tri z doesn't do well with static comp over 175. The cooling system on that bike makes a banshee look like state of the art. Also make sure that the kickstarter and gear set is in good working order. They are notorious for exploding and busting the kick side case which is rare as hens teeth. If you are looking for reliability and something to put high hp to, look for a 3rd gen 250r. Also, parts availability, especially aftermarket is pretty much nill for the z.
