Power_Man Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 Rebuilding a motor, I had the cylinders on and ready to go and realized I needed to take back off. In the process I ripped the far corner of the gasket. Outside edge outside of the bolt. Not being cheap as I have no problem buying a $30 .012" gasket, how ever i don't want to wait 7-14 days for it to arrive in the mail up here in the north if it won't make a difference. Will that rip matter? Quote
Phelps Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 It won't matter. Dab a little Yamabond where it's ripped Quote
jbooker82 Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 I don't reuse gaskets. Once it's compressed next time it comes appart it goes in the trash. Quote

sleeper06 Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 As stated , clean everything with ascetone, thin layer of three bond or yams bond. Make sure you let everything dry 24 hrs in 65* weather a lil more if it's cold. You'll be fine. Do I do it all the time no . In a pinch I absolutely have with no issues Quote
Power_Man Posted February 16, 2016 Author Report Posted February 16, 2016 I can have to you 2 days i wish you could. up here in Canada, nothing comes out of USA in two days, unless ya'll trying to come get some of our Canadian Bacon. It won't matter. Dab a little Yamabond where it's ripped thank you Is it worth the risk? No, its not worth the risk, but if there is NO risk, then why not. Thanks for info guys Quote
