PaymentPlan Posted January 4, 2016 Report Posted January 4, 2016 (edited) What's happening guys. Heading to sears right now to get some tools. I went a few weeks ago and picked up some miscellaneous odds and ends, including a 3/8 drive tork wrench that I bought specifically for building my project. Ended up spending about $150 total. I've got about $100 this trip, is there any beneficial tools, shee related, you guys can think of I could use. Thanks Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk Edited January 4, 2016 by controls77 Quote
PaymentPlan Posted January 4, 2016 Author Report Posted January 4, 2016 (edited) I looked for a digital micrometer, but they do not carry them in stores. I'll get one soon though. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk Edited January 4, 2016 by controls77 Quote

PaymentPlan Posted January 4, 2016 Author Report Posted January 4, 2016 Flywheel puller, build leak down tester, compression gauge, carb toolI have a flywheel puller, compression guages, but not the carb tool and a leak down tester. I will not need a leak down for this since Cam is my builder. My plan is sometime in the future I'll be building my own engine from scratch, and that's when I will need the leak down and micrometer. Bennett131 Posted January 4, 2016 Report Posted January 4, 2016 Do you mean calipers? and dont buy digital shit... Quote
PaymentPlan Posted January 4, 2016 Author Report Posted January 4, 2016 What in the world do you need a micrometer for? For this build, I do not need it at all. It will be a good tool to have when I decide to build an engine myself from bare cases. For understanding measurement units and numbers throughout the bike. I'm curious in that aspect is all. PaymentPlan Posted January 4, 2016 Author Report Posted January 4, 2016 Please don't buy those..Wth why? I thought the digital ones were really good, no? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk Quote

Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk Even good calipers are only good for reference. I prefer dial over digital. And a good set will cost a lot more than the ones you posted. 2 Quote
LaegerEliminator Posted January 4, 2016 Report Posted January 4, 2016 It is always a good idea to have a leak down kit already built and on hand. Should you run into any tuning troubles or if Cam and you decide to try running different domes to suit your needs better, you will need one. Quote
