JDP421
Curious to know if anyone's running e85 threw there shee? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
trickedcarbine
Few folks are. Just requires heavier jetting and a bit more dedication to cleaning the carbs. There are a few EFI E85 setups out there.
Whitbread
E85 and klotz super techni plate smell like sex. Issue with e85 is that it's not always the same concentration from the pump. With my efi setup, my fuel composition sensor detects the alkyl percent exactly and adjusts fuel and timing accordingly. With a carburetor, you will be doing a lot Of test and tuning between batches of fuel. And since you still need to purge with it, in my opinion it doesn't make much sense outside of an EFI bike. camatv
he is dead on. IF you want to run carbed e85 get a tester. keep notes purge the motor. run alky safe mix oils and treat the bike/ setup the same as if it as on alky. your BEST bet is a lectron due to its super fast jetting changeablility OR really good notes on % of ethanol to gas and the jetting you found to work right with those percents. lectron alky carb works well BUT you have to have the correct ethanol needle. pe-1 wont work on e85. ONLY few reasons to run e85 over methanol. is its easy to get for you and alky is near impossible. you want a smidge better mileage than alky will give you. you want your bike to smell like roasted corn. jbooker82
Does it still smell like corn if it's distilled from switch grass or sugar cane?
