98_Shees2fast Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 So im putting new stock a arms and tie rods on my shee today. Well i got everything off and reassembled, but when i put it back together the tierod on the spindle wouldnt go down tight. I can get a few threads of the nut on, but also when tightening it the shaft spins on the tierod itself. Impact gun or is the tie rod bad? Any help is appreciated... Quote
98_Shees2fast Posted June 30, 2015 Author Report Posted June 30, 2015 No the theads are fine. I didnt smack it or anything Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Still, chase the threads on both the nut and rod end first. And are putting it in the right way? -- It's happened. Quote
98_Shees2fast Posted June 30, 2015 Author Report Posted June 30, 2015 Ok ill try that but should the shaft spin tho..or is that normal Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 wouldn't steer if it didn't spin Quote
Bennett131 Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 It's supposed to spin, there should be a taper on the spindle and the ball joint end. Quote
98_Shees2fast Posted June 30, 2015 Author Report Posted June 30, 2015 Yeah i cant get into the spindle all the way....should i give her a love tap with a bammer Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Put upward pressure on it so it wont spin. I use a floor jack under ball joints and whatnot then crank down the nut if they're being a bitch, 1 Quote

98_Shees2fast Posted June 30, 2015 Author Report Posted June 30, 2015 Should this also help the tierod end seat in the spindle Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Sure. Just go slow and it will work. Also spray a little WD-40 in the tapered holes. Makes life easier and onto the next beer quicker. 1 Quote
