BANSHEEBEEFM2M Posted April 20, 2015 Report Posted April 20, 2015 If you need a bore, plus the portjob and shipping back n forth etc. It won't be too much cheaper then the cub. A well tuned in ported cub will rip right out of the box 1 Quote
sheerider11 Posted April 20, 2015 Report Posted April 20, 2015 ^ what beef said. But to do it totally right is only about $750 less then a cub.Maybe. For what I did to my stock cylinder motor I could've had a ported 421 cub. All depends on what you need/want. Quote
n2otoofast4u Posted April 20, 2015 Report Posted April 20, 2015 If you're going to build a PROPERLY setup 421 it makes no sense not to build a 465..... JMO 1 Quote
Ljj Posted April 20, 2015 Author Report Posted April 20, 2015 So what do guys think for now. I have BFn reeds Dg pipes +4. Timing Air lid off box .40 over Stock carbs Cool heads 21cc domes Think I'll hang for now. 421 or 68 to come any way. Quote

BANSHEEBEEFM2M Posted April 20, 2015 Report Posted April 20, 2015 U can't expect any motor to run how its supposed to with DG pipes. Need scp or slp or cpi Quote
BANSHEEBEEFM2M Posted April 20, 2015 Report Posted April 20, 2015 Ditch airbox get pod filters ....................m Quote
Ljj Posted April 21, 2015 Author Report Posted April 21, 2015 Yea I plan on getting rid of the dg. Just waiting to f2f figure out if I'm going to need small bore or big depending on which setup I Choose to go. Don't want to buy pipes twice. Quote
bigweav81 Posted April 21, 2015 Report Posted April 21, 2015 I doubt you would need big bore pipes on a 421. Sent from your mammy house Quote
okbeast Posted April 21, 2015 Report Posted April 21, 2015 I know a builder or 2 that like big bore pipes on a 421 but you'll be safe with small bore. Quote
Pasi S. Posted April 21, 2015 Report Posted April 21, 2015 Ljj, how much you have money for this Project? With your current set up, how far behind you are from that "badboy" 501? Going from about 45 horse SS/SC motor up to about 90 horse aftermarket is a huge step. You need to think traction and gearing too. Quote
Ljj Posted April 21, 2015 Author Report Posted April 21, 2015 Got about $3000. haven't raced him yet can't get my jetting down pack yet. It bogs and hesitates so I'm trying to get that down. We have a new tracking opening this weekend in Florida called Florida tracks and trails. So I'll get my chance then if I can figure out my jetting issue. Quote
sprinklerman Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 He'll probably whoop your ass on a track. Quote
