kryder Posted February 13, 2015 Report Posted February 13, 2015 87 banshee ran great only problem was overflowing carb. one day i went out to ride and it started and ran like crap. Smoked a bunch and popped alot. Now it is hard to start. If it starts it won't idle. Pops out of stator side and has oil in stator side pipe. Runs like garbage if I ccan start it. Used to start first kick. What could this be? Quote
trickedcarbine Posted February 13, 2015 Report Posted February 13, 2015 I'd do all the simple stuff first just to make sure the motor isn't toast on that side. Compression test, Leak down,Clean and inspect carbs set the float on the leaking side, Check plugs. If all that checks out, I'd say get in to the electronics. Quote
02banshnyoda Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Check to see if the stator plate bolts came loose Quote
kryder Posted February 15, 2015 Author Report Posted February 15, 2015 Compression is about 145 each side.hwve checked and switched plugs. Checked the reeds. IM going to look at the stator today. When i can get it running only the left size runs like shit mostly. Quote
volcrano Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 (edited) Are the carbs in sync? Did the carb top come loose on the stator side? Is the left cylinder the one with the carb overflow issue? Edited February 17, 2015 by volcrano Quote
