Fuel Mixture Please Help Asap By Tomorrow

I have a 2001 banshee. How do I mix the oil? A buddy told me 40:1 and the manual says something like 24:1. I will be mixing it with yamalube R. Its a stock motor except for boost bottle and is fairly new.

on a fresh motor run 24:1 then after about a tank or 2 of that mix it to 32:1. thats what i did on mine and it ran finee. i also recomend klotz or amsoil2000 or castroil they seem to protect and burn better than yamalube

this has over 20 hours so it is not real new. Should I go with what the manual syas? Oh I used regular water in my radiator, wii this hurt it?

Most people use a 32:1 gas/oil ratio. That's 4 oz. of oil to a gallon of fuel, or 20 oz. to 5 gallons of fuel.

 

Yes, using just water in the radiator can hurt, if it freezes. Use a 50/50 mixture of antifreeze and distilled water.

Water can also promote corrosion, and it is not a lubricator of any kind. if you want to use water, and no coolant, use some water wetter, or something like it....

run straight anti freeze over water, or mix like ben said but straight water is a no no.....it rusts, evaporates and is all around not a good idea

I assume you sayin' you used water right from the kitchen sink. Your supposed to use distilled water cause tap water has crap floatin' around in it, minerals and teeny tiny bugs and flouride for your teeth and rust from your pipes etc etc.... What I do is...... I have one of those water purifier pitchers, I fill up a pot full of water and boil the fucker for 5 minutes, then I pour it through the water purifier pitcher, let it cool so you dont hurt yourself and then I mix it 50-50 with some antifreeze. Running 100% water will cool better than mixing it, but like everyone said..... dont do it, you need that antifreeze in there to protect from colder temps, help lube the coolant system and protect it from corrosion.

 

Get a small cup, fill it with the purified\distilled water and throw it in your radiator, now fill up the small cup with antifreez and throw that in the radiator, do the water again..... then do the antifreez again. Keep fillin' till the radiator is topped off, there ya go... 50-50 mix of water and antifreeze.

I have Blue Ice I think its called and its suppose to keep the temps down ive heard. Probably simular to water wetter. The antifreeze was running a little low the other day (judging by the bottle under the seat) and i just put some regular car antifreeze in it to top it off. I dont think it matters what kind of coolant you use but I could be wrong.

 

I was told by the guy I bought my 'shee from to put 16oz bottle of caster927 per 5 gallon gas tank. Does that sound about right? Its stock besides being .40 over if that helps.

Running 100% water will cool better than mixing it

Although, one must remember, without mixing it, water will have a lower boiling point than a mix.....

I think straight distileld mixed with water wetter will give the best cooling results, however even that is too risky for me. Go buy some coolanol and mix in some water wetter for good results. Or otherwise maybe some coolant called engine ice. Im experimenting with it right now to see how it compares to coolanol + water wetter, its supposed to be better.

 

Tap water is really bad though, low boiling point + corrosion. Drain that crap out and get some decent coolant.
