Shock Covers

I just bought new front Yamaha shock covers and already got a small tear in them. Is this commen are they junk or strong and I just happened to rip them ? Anyone know? Also can they go in the washing machine?

i bought some moose ones like 6 yrs ago. I have had no problems w/ mine rippin. I dont know if u can wash them, but i wash mine, seems to be ok. Just me experience. Peace out.

I bought some from duncan. They are actually made by outerware. They seem to be very tough. Had them for 1 yr. I just use dish soap and wash them in the sink by scrubbing them with my hands.

i have a set from trinity racing, i think they are also made by outerwears. i usually pound out the dirt and throw them in with the riding pants then hang them out to dry. been going strong for about 4 years with no probs. later

mine are the heavy elka covers i do like evil toss them in with my jerseys and leathers and bingo, clean as a whistle, not a rip or tear in them and seam to hold up to the washer decent, outerwares too, gloves, helmet linings, nothing a little "Tide" wont take care of......

If you want some custom ones check out www.ghettokidzracing.com and look for a link along the lines f AD shocks covers( I can't remeber exactly what it is. A guy on my team's wife makes them and she can make them for any lenght you just have to know the measurement of your shock lenght width etc. But they can do any color and even put your name or so on it. I've had mine for about 8 months and no problems yet. I wash them in the sink too. Oh they charge 35 plus shipping which is about the same that everyone else charges but you don't get it custom. I'll try to find the link for it.

ive had moose shock covers for a year, clean right up in the wash machine, only had one rip in them but that was from trail ridin when a stick hit it

I have had a set made by Shockers for a year with no problems.I hand wash them in the sink.

i have had mine rip once about three rides after i put them on. i called outerware and they told me to install them so you can pinch a 1/4 inch of material. they told me i had mine on too tight. i installed them the way they told me to and have had no problems since.

Shock covers are for people trying to cover up their crappy stock shocks. Shock covers will scuff your springs, hold in fine dirt, and get torn as soon as you hit a man sized jump (springs will pinch the fabric). Get works shocks ans go loud and proud.

I run axis all the way around an I still use shock covers. They keep the grit off the shaft and save the seals. Nothing wrong with running shock covers.
