banshee reed boots dont fit

Trying to fit anew set of carb boots to do my v force 3 reeds am I missing something here the boot has rubber sticking out not allowing it to fit flush with the new reads it fits into the rectangular holel of the old reeds but not the vforce 3

Should I cut the rubber off to fit?

Try a razor blade that rubber is tough.

After you cut it, make sure to put 400 grit on something flat and figure 8 it on there to make sure it's actually flat. Then move to like 800

if you got the reeds new i believe in the structioonz it sayz to do that.  if not welp now ya know.   and knowing is half the battle.
