Ok so I'm weighing up my options on what I should do with my banshee it's at the dealer at the moment I'm really thinking about Takng it out of there tomorrow ..I'd be surprised if they told me its going to cost under 2k to fix ..a couple of u guys mentioned buying a engine from the USA an keeping my crap one to learn on ..now how would I go about this ..how much would I be able to pick up a good engine for an how would I go about making sure it's not worse then the one I got in there now..I know the shipping is prob ganna be costly but if it beats 2 to 3 k at the dealer I might aswell..and is there anyone out there willing to do some sort of deal

you would have to catch a reputable member on here selling a complete running motor, one with good feedback, a well respected site sponsor may have one, DO NOT buy a motor from a new member with zero feedback, and a low post count. ask other members about the person selling a complete motor. do some homework.

I have been talking a lil to windyjohnjohn I'm sure he's a good guy he said he's got one I'm just wondering price wise what the difference might be ..but I do think it is the best thing to do from here..

^ john has a pretty good run with this banshee stuff. Knows it pretty well and can definitely steer you in the right direction. Hell, I would bet that a motor built in Windy's garage from spare parts and left over bolt ons would be better then some dealer cobbled motor that probably won't have a warranty any way. If windy says he can et you something put together or even maybe he could make you a motor that is not only reliable but has some to fast goodies as well.

It won't hurt to look in the for sale forums here, as the occasional deal pops up every now and then. I think there's a complete Cub for 2k right now.... From the right seller that could be like gold for that price.

Also, you can call around to BHQ Site Sponsors and see who is able to set you up with a complete motor or who is capable/willing to deal with having your motor sent here then re working it and shipping it back. This would be probably almost as costly though and it can tend to let people get carried away. Next thing you know you have a ported 4mil when you just wanted a rebuilt stocker.

I would consider this though. Since either option is gonna cost money and a considerable amount of down time, start doing a ton of reading and researching basic simple combos that guys are having great results with. Lots of hot stock stroke motors making many folks happy. Also look in to bottom end items like trans mods and welding the crank and having better bearings put on. Reliability stuff that if you do it now, it won't be coming apart for a long while.

Sprinkler I think that might be bait much but I don't know how much hp I can handle ..but John says the motor he's selling is exactly the same as yours?

Well I know it's not close to the 421 but did u have a 370 cc?

Not in a long time.

my time frame might not work for you anyway. I'm keeping it as a spare motor until after the BHQ ride in September. You probably want something before then I'm guessing.

To be honest I'm willing to take as long as it takes as long as it gets done right ! I have a z400 to keep me happy for abit would a 421 be able to fit in a normal banshee frame or is that one of those drag banshee motors?
