dgk30 Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 Hi all, I am new to the forum and new to banshees. I am from Michigan so Silver Lake sand dunes is where I go. My question is, I am currently working out of state and I found two banshees they both run, a 2000, pretty much stock other than a cool head, the other one is a 96, stock, needs carb jetted but starts. Both could probably use a little clean up but my question is, If I get both for $2,200 is this a good deal? plan is to keep one, clean the other one up and sell it. I figure being up at the dunes there will be a slightly higher demand that could pull a little higher price, or will I be stuck breaking even? I know its probably hard to judge without seeing them but let me know your thoughts. Im not sure if they are as sought after as they used to be. Should I just get one and enjoy it? Or get both and try to turn one by sticking a little money into it over the winter and putting a for sale sign on it at the dunes in the spring. Only way I would get both is if there is hope I could get the money back on one what I spent on both. Thanks! Quote
tfaith08 Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 Needs carb jetted rarely means just that the carbs need to be jetted. More often than not, it means that there are quite a few problems that the owner couldn't identify and rode it anyway, and he's telling you that all it needs is jets. If you can get pics, that'll help the decision A LOT. They are also still in demand in many places. I actually talked to a guy today that's looking for one. The other option is to part it out. You can make money on parting one out. Quote
Larry's Shee Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 If you can get both for $2200, do it. Dunno, I've seen guys whining theycouldn't break even parting out, plus you're bound to end up with pieces left. If it had lots of A.M. parts, that might be different. Check CL to get an idea of what asking prices are local. DEEtroit/Flint I rarely see anything less than 2g that runs Quote
