Leave the ball in. Also the word is "engaging" it was confusing when i read it as well. Make sure your clutch cover isnt touching or very very close to the pressure plate. In this case your lockup plate. On a Gigot slingshot lockup you have to grind the tabs in the clutch cover or the clutch will not "disengage" . Could be similar for the vitos, hope it helps.

I took the 8th plate out and clutch works perfect. Nobody has delt with this problem? I guess to run 8 plates you must need a longer pancake bearing?

Clutch is fine now with 7 plates

so you fixed your problem?

 

trying to run 8 plates on a Mattoon basket with driveline lock up and unmachined inner clutch hub?

 

7 plate and the driveline lock up will hold north of 120hp without using the stiffest springs or all the balls.
