Rapture
So who has tried this dye stuff on there gas tanks? I have a white tank that needs to be black. I boiled up mine for best part of half an hour and it didn't even penetrate. The guy on youtube must have a had a different tank to me.
trickedcarbine
Maybe try a vinyl wrap? Probably only last a season or two though. Or, maybe get it hydro dipped? Again probably short lived. It just pressure wash yours and see how it comes out. Worst case scenario STICKER BOMB!
Rapture
I think I may still have the bubbling problem with a wrap as the vapour will still pass through the plastic. I might try and seal it first then that should open up some good options.
Glenyboy
You can get vinyl wrap with small pin holes in it, it's what they use for rear windows at sign writing shops. The old mx bikes had the same type of stickers with holes in. I'm sure if you took it to a signwriting shop they could do it for a reasonable price, I wouldn't try it yourself as it's a pain in the ass!
