Hello all, I am a first time poster on this forum because I have just got my first quad. It's a 96 banshee with dual fat boy exhaust, power head, boost bottle, k&n air filter with outerwears, pyramid reeds and freshly cleaned carbs. So this was actually given to me for free because the previous owner lost interest in getting it running. It ran about a month ago, but not well, so he cleaned the carbs and put in new reeds. Now it does not want to run at all. The motor has even compression at 105 psi, and strong spark. When we got it started only the clutch side exhaust was smoking, other side was cold. This leads me to believe it is a fuel delivery issue and is running on one cylinder. Has anyone had this problem and is there a simple fix for it ? Thanks in advance.

By the way I am very mechanically inclined and have been building and racing standup jet skis for most of my life, just not familiar with the carb setup on the banshee.

105 psi, isn't that great. could be a pilot issue, but you should do a leak down test. make a kit, or buy one. you were given the banshee for free so buying the material to make a leak down tester isn't going to hurt you at all. search around on here you will find how to make a leak down tester, and racing stand up jet skis has nothing to do with these machines, or this site. just putting that out there, there are awesome, and experienced banshee guys on here, that will help you out.

You can switch the entire carb side to side as long as you get a longer choke hose and test your theory.

A leak down test should still first.

It's been my experience to never assume what the previous owner did was right to begin with.

Trade you a banshee for a stand up. Miss my super jet.

Depending on elevation you should be around 120ish for a stock shee.

. Well it's not stock I listed the mods above, but the motor has never been rebuilt and has the original rings. Despite all this it now runs flawlessly and can easily come out from underneath you when you hit the power band haha. How many banshees do you have?
