Starwriter Posted February 1, 2014 Report Posted February 1, 2014 K&N has a chart on their website that lists part numbers for all the different filters with specs. Generally the 10 degree filters work best. You can rotate them both to the right side. 1 Quote
sheerider11 Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 I ran those filters a couple yrs back. Ran them 2-3 times then they got thrown into the bottom of my JUNK parts bin. A good bit of coal dirt was getting suck past/through the filters. Yes they were oiled properly, and yes i had outer wears. I was at ECA and Dave was really pushing me towards the blue foam ones they sell. Have you tried those? Quote

I know mike(lms1977) ran them for a while without any problems. I run genuine stage2 uni filters with outtwears Quote
2strokeshees Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 True K&N or foam filter. I had a set of the knock offs on my 4 mill and wont do it again, sand was getting through them so I went to Yamaha dealer and bought K&N and no problems. Like finch said you can go broke saving money, some times you need to spend a little extra. Quote

do-work-son Posted February 3, 2014 Report Posted February 3, 2014 HJR sells the knocks off .. I have a pair of his six in angled on one of my bikes.. i run the knock offs on my 421 cub. hjr told me to switch to k&n but i never did, will be putting in k&n's this year. someone told me once some knock offs are 4 ply and some are 8 ply but i have no idea if there is any truth to that. hughmyron Posted February 5, 2014 Author Report Posted February 5, 2014 (edited) I paid about 3x as much for the filters, these filters can be found right here for like 5 bux or 8 bux each depending on the size. Part number for them is AFR177, if you want to try them out save your money and order some where else. Edited February 5, 2014 by hughmyron Quote
