Nieskes Posted January 20, 2014 Report Posted January 20, 2014 It sounds like you have your clutch way out of adjustment. Is your outer hub on correct? Quote
Carter32ent Posted January 20, 2014 Author Report Posted January 20, 2014 Yes the outer hub is on correct but also my clutch lever is very tight and can hardly pull it Quote
Carter32ent Posted January 20, 2014 Author Report Posted January 20, 2014 Yes it was 7 plates and 6 silver plates in between the 7 plates clock wise Quote
Young Guns Racing Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 If you have checked clutch adjustment - check your drive sprocket? I had a buddy once parked his bike to rest out riding, we all started back up and he didnt move...nut came off of the shaft and the sprocket was off of the splines sitting on the threads. Went into gear fine, but with it off the splines it was a no go. Just a thought. Quote
Carter32ent Posted January 21, 2014 Author Report Posted January 21, 2014 My clutch plates have a wiggle in them. They aren't tight. Is it something missing Quote
Nieskes Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Like I asked in the first place is your hub on correct? Do you have the washers in front and behind the basket? Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 my clutch lever is very tight and can hardly pull it I'm guessing you have welded the ball to the rod or clutch adjuster Quote
sheerider11 Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Like I asked in the first place is your hub on correct? Do you have the washers in front and behind the basket?I think his pressure plate is on wrong Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 I think his pressure plate is on wrong I was gonna go with that, and I suppose if he adjusted it up with it on wrong it would be damn hard to pull... LOL I change my guess to plate is on wrong. Quote
Carter32ent Posted January 21, 2014 Author Report Posted January 21, 2014 This how I installed it. I put clutch basket on then center hub. Put the washer in that bends and the another washer then the nut that goes on with air impact gun. Then installed clutch plates. First plate black then chrome clockwise pattern. Total of 7 black plates and 6 chrome then I put pressure plate on along with springs. My clutch plates have a little play In the from side to side as if it's a gap between plates and pressure plate. sheerider11 Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Did you line up the pressure plate? There is arrows on it that point to dots on the hub Quote
Starwriter Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Put the washer in that bends and the ANOTHER washer then the nut that goes on with air impact gun. Huh? There is no "another washer" by the nut. The big thick washers go on BEFORE the basket and AFTER the basket. Then the inner hub goes on, then the bendover washer, then the nut. As mentioned above, make sure 1 of the arrows on the pressure plate lines up with the single dot on the INNER hub. Quote
jharader Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Make sure the pin is in the shift star to the shift drum...I've seen them fall out before resulting in this exact issue your having. It "clicks" but doesnt do shit if not. Just a thought Quote
Carter32ent Posted January 21, 2014 Author Report Posted January 21, 2014 I took the clutch basket off and everything is installed correct now. Pin in shift star is in but still having same problem. It shifts out but won't move. Back tires roll if I push it even after I put it in gear. I can feel a little tension when it's in gear while pushing it but they should lock if in gear. Quote
