sheerider11 Posted December 16, 2013 Report Posted December 16, 2013 Sweet. Check your flywheel. Quote
1CrazyBastard Posted December 16, 2013 Report Posted December 16, 2013 well I got out today and it started up and idled okay for a minute. but then I put it in gear and I don't know what the #%!@ is going on it started going in reverse and popping. I tried it a couple times and it still did it in 2nd gear then it died and wont start back know. do you guys think it could be cdi or timing? Reverse ??? it's very possible that the the flywheel key sheared ? I'd be pulling that fIywheel if it were me and checkin things out can't say I've ever heard of a banshee with reverse although it would be nice .I have an old 2 stroke golf cart and thats how it has reverse the engine actually runs in the other direction . 2005shee Posted December 17, 2013 Author Report Posted December 17, 2013 I don't have one tday im not home now to get one but im gonna pull the flywheel tomorrow and ill take a pic Quote
oldskool Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 Sounds like you need a stator. I've seen honda 250r's run backwards due to a bad timing issue Quote
sheerider11 Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 Yup. Your gonna need a stator. Checklist your flywheel too. Really check the crank, hopefully the key way isn't all butchered up Quote
2005shee Posted December 17, 2013 Author Report Posted December 17, 2013 I don't have a puller I have to take it to the shop tomorrow to pull it. while im there ill let the guy look at it and see what he says all looks bad or worn out. Quote
03DMshee Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 Do you have the right tool to pull it? Be carefull if you use a regular conventional puller cause you can bend the flywheel...I suggest using correct tool Quote
Young Guns Racing Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 flywheel puller is a cheap investment for the DYI guy, probably cheaper than minimum shop labor too Quote
2005shee Posted December 17, 2013 Author Report Posted December 17, 2013 ya I need to pick one up but I took it to the shop and the guy didn't have change so I only paid 10 and he broke his first puller trying to get it off. it needs a timing plate and stator everything els is good. I goy one ordered (oem) for 32 dollars comes with plate wires and stator ill let you all know when I get it put on if it runs good. Quote
