Carter32ent Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 03 yamaha banshee clutch adjuster screw keeps adjusting itself out of speck when I start banshee Quote
Carter32ent Posted December 14, 2013 Author Report Posted December 14, 2013 I have to keep taking the clutch cover off and adjust the clutch screw. Once I fill up with oil and start it up the clutch lever loses tension again. Please help Quote
Carter32ent Posted December 14, 2013 Author Report Posted December 14, 2013 I made it tighter but tighter I screw it it the clutch lever becomes too hard to pull Quote
sheerider11 Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 Are you not tightening the jam nut down on it? Like are you just screwing in the screw and thinking that's all you need to do? Quote
sheerider11 Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 You need to set the screw up where you need it, then hold that in place. Now take a wrench( 10 or 12mm) and tighten that nut down. While holding the screw Quote
Carter32ent Posted December 15, 2013 Author Report Posted December 15, 2013 The nut I see on the adjustment screw doesn't poke out enough to get a wrench around it or is it supposed to be a nut on the outside of the clutch plate also Quote

sheerider11 Posted December 15, 2013 Report Posted December 15, 2013 This isn't exactly a banshee but the quickest I cod find on google. I haven't seen a stock adjuster in a while, but I'm thinking they should have a set nut in the back that should line up in the pressure plate. That should be flush with the plate. Then on the front side an adjuster and a lock nut. I think that's how it goes. Before you go on check that. So pull the pp off and see if your lined up. Some one correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's almost right Quote
wayne_smith97 Posted December 15, 2013 Report Posted December 15, 2013 Sounds like he is missing the jam nut Quote

Larry's Shee Posted December 16, 2013 Report Posted December 16, 2013 Wouldn't hurt to clean the screw and nut and use some loctite on it. Quote
