hotrodbanshee Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 My lightened flywheel just fly apart on me and damaged the stator in the process. After seeing what yamaha wants to ass rape me for replacement stator and flywheel, are there any aftermarket flywheels and stators any good to use? I have read lots of negitive comments with ricky stator. Quote
sheerider11 Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 Did you check the for sale section? Race tech has a good stator. But flywheel is oem only. I had a aftermarket one shear the rivets Quote
hotrodbanshee Posted October 24, 2013 Author Report Posted October 24, 2013 I looked at race techs web site and it says not available on the banshee stators. Do ya'll know if he stills makes them? I'll have to call or email racetech. Quote
Young Guns Racing Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 Damnit dude.....mine did the exact SAME THING 2 days ago. I will never run a lightened flywheel again. Ebay has lots of used OEM stators, you will pay dearly and have to pay close attention to find a seller who will "guarantee" the item is good. If you post a wanted add folks here are usually very helpful and will come through with flying colors. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 ^ ten points for that guy. Quote
Hazzard Racing Customs Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 my most hated parts on the banshee cuz there are really no other options then OEM IMO Quote
wayne_smith97 Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Can you test the flywheel? Quote
trickedcarbine Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 ^ yes, shake it. Any rattles? If so it's junk. How bout it's magnetic property? Does metal still stick to it in side? Quote
joey83 Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Ive had 4 that all rattled. Maybe I was just lucky Quote
sheerider11 Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 A slight rattle is okay. It's gonna be on its way out sooner then later. If it sounds like there's rocks in it, that's where the bike starts to miss and sputter Quote
