Honda thumb throttle on a Banshee

I have never rode my Banshee with a thumb throttle.  I'm going to swap out my twist throttle in hopes of improving control and lap times on tight XC and hare scramble tracks.  I have heard that the Honda 400ex and TRX450R units work well on the banshee and feel even better than the aftermarket units. I'm looking for some feed back on this.  I'm running 28PWK's

running one on mine. works great. had a terry cable throttle on before and my hand would go numb.

Tim,  is that 450r or 400ex?

im pretty sure its a 400ex. i got it off ebay for $15. i dont know if there is a difference in the 450 or 400. we have a 450r also. i look when i get a chance and see if they are physically different.

I have one as well it works i just had to cut some on the inside to get wot. Its actually longer to wot though thats why its easier to push.. . I dont think you can use it on carbs bigger than 28mm

I have a 400 throttle on my cr 250. An with a 38 pwk on it, it does not quite open all the way, even after cutting into the housing to get more through. but it is real close, close enough for me not to worry... Probably Gona get crap for haveing a thumb on a bike,, but I absolutely love it. Lot better control for me.

if you want a little more comfort yet, put a TRX90 lever in a 400EX throttle housing

do you just need the housing?  or do you have to use the honda cable as well?
