troyzstang Posted March 31, 2013 Report Posted March 31, 2013 Just trying to figure out the Actual preset formats on a Dyna FS. The toggle has two tab settings and numbered locations. ( 1-4 ) Top left = 1 Top right =2 bottom left = 3 bottom right = 4 Which setting locations for which timing advance? Thanks Troy Quote
trickedcarbine Posted March 31, 2013 Report Posted March 31, 2013 I was about to make a post on this. Not sure if I should pick up one with programmable option or not. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted March 31, 2013 Report Posted March 31, 2013 Found this doing some digging. http://www.dynaonline.com/skins/downloads/instruct/DFS7-1.pdf Quote
WINDYCITYJOHN400 Posted March 31, 2013 Report Posted March 31, 2013 I prefer to stick with the factory CDI. I had a DYNA FS and after a while it started to break-up on the top end. After doing some research, it appeared to be well known for doing that. I'm not saying it was common (like Ricky Stators failing) but more than a few had the same issues. Quote
troyzstang Posted March 31, 2013 Author Report Posted March 31, 2013 Found this doing some digging. http://www.dynaonline.com/skins/downloads/instruct/DFS7-1.pdf Thanks I found that too. Am I missing something. To me it doesn't tell or show the actual tab placement / location for each selection. Am I just over thinking it? I do have a stock CDI but I like the idea of advanced timing on the fly. Here's a picture a said toggle for reference. Thanks Quote

Thanks When new, the dip switch box in you hand has a sticker that tells you the positions. If you use the #1 & #2 as the top position, this is how it works. Curve #1, both down. Curve #2, left one down/tight one up. Curve #3, left one up/right one down. Curve #4, both up. Quote
SlowerThanYou Posted March 31, 2013 Report Posted March 31, 2013 Right now you are on curve #1. Quote
