CodyRosa Posted March 30, 2013 Report Posted March 30, 2013 http://imgur.com/jhUMjIz I split my case like 30minutes ago and found this, a nut and some chewed up metal. All the gears look perfect in the motor, the crank looks good except for shot connecting rod bearings =(. Where would be my first best bet as to finding where this came from? I've never heard this motor run but it does shift good with no issues. Thanks Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 30, 2013 Report Posted March 30, 2013 Where in the cases was that piece? By the clutch I'm assuming? What wrench size is the nut? 12mm, 14mm or 17mm? Quote
CodyRosa Posted March 30, 2013 Author Report Posted March 30, 2013 it was next to the shift forks but i heard it ratting in there. its a 12mm Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 30, 2013 Report Posted March 30, 2013 Check your pressure plate pusher. There should be a 12mm nut on it if it's a stock one. Quote
Surfrjag Posted March 30, 2013 Report Posted March 30, 2013 Also check the gears on the clutch. I ate that one once and screwed the teeth up. Quote
CodyRosa Posted March 30, 2013 Author Report Posted March 30, 2013 i have a billet racing clutch, there is a 12mm on that already. the big gear on the clutch basket is fine, little marks but thats from that idler gear, i had a bad bushing on it. Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 30, 2013 Report Posted March 30, 2013 If it's not off the pusher then it's something left over. There are no other 12mm nuts that belong in there. It's hard to see if there's a flange on the nut in the pic. If not, then I'd say it came off a stock pusher and was left in there. Quote
CodyRosa Posted March 30, 2013 Author Report Posted March 30, 2013 Ok so maybe they lost the 12mm nut on the clutch basket they had before, ended up getting a new clutch basket and just left that nut in there?Still not sure what that chewed up metal is. I have an idea but not 100%. The bracket that holds the case together actually broke so maybe its that. Quote
