nightmarebanshee Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 im having trouble hitting the powerband in 5th but mostly 6th gear..i think ive got the mains dialed in 270s to lean 290s rich 280 is what i have in it now and the plugs are golden brown but when i shift into 5th it bogs a little and gradually hits powerband and 6th it falls on its face i cant remember what i have the needle set at but could moving the needle up or down fix this problem? it is just broken in with t5s and uni air filter with airvents installed Quote
trickedcarbine Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 Hmm, carbs are cleanplug gap, pick up gap, filters are cleaned recently, stator is good? Quote
nightmarebanshee Posted March 22, 2013 Author Report Posted March 22, 2013 carbs are clean but the gap is a good starting point what is the correct gap size? and i was told that moving needle clip position might help but im not sure which way to go ive never had to adjust it on my old banshee Quote
trickedcarbine Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 The pilot is idle to about 1/4 throttle, needle is 1/4-about 3/4 throttle, the main takes over from there which should be where you are at in 5/6th gears. Quote
nightmarebanshee Posted March 23, 2013 Author Report Posted March 23, 2013 well i took the plug boots off the coil cause the right cylinder has been back firing and the ignition wires in there fell apart.the bike is an 89 and the coil looks like it lol so im gonna order a new coil and go from there its all screwed up Quote
