smoking from 1 pipe only

I rebuilt my carbs now only one pipe is smoking. How can I sync my carbs without the sync tool?

Also you can take the filters off and put your fingers on the slides, and push on the thumb throttle a bit and one slide will start to move a little and just adjust it to where they move at the same time.

Buy a sync tool!!  I thought i was doing a pretty good job doing it by eye.  Then I bought a tool just to see how close I was, I was way off.  Made throtle response a ton better after I used the sync tool.  Just my opinion.  Good luck.

I think I have one carb to rich or one to lean. Im pretty sure I have them set the same tho???

I always used feeler gauges on stockers to get the slide height the same. Then just eyeball it real good to see that they move together. Like dude above said, it helps to put them on your finger tips so you can actually feel the difference to.

OK I'm gonna check them. I hope that's all it is. Its running good I just dont want that 1 cyl to be too lean and burn up

I don't think it would ever be the reason for a lean melt down, but it will make sure you have a properly running motor.

OK well that's good to know. I still need to learn how to tune it the right way etc. Only had it a month

OK well both slides are moving at the same time. Still smoking out of the left pipe more. I tried adjusting the fuel/air screw to make the right pipe richer didn't help. I dunno what to do. Any ideas?

Make sure you are making adjustment to both carbs, not just one of them.  I still think you need a sync tool..  Its the best way to make sure both carb are in tune with each other.  Very easy to set the cable length and set the idle.  Just my op..

I'm not sure.  But it could.  If one carb is pulling harder than the other one, then one is getting more fuel than the other one is.  So i guess maybe it could.  I'm no pro thats for sure.  Maybe some of the other builders will chime in soon.

My Shee always smokes more on the Right Side when its Cold . After a couple of minutes when its warmed 150 and up . They start to smoke Evenly threw Both Pipes .
