a  modified transmission is best..

a good flywheel puller..

build a leak tester.

new gaskets and seals.

welded crankshaft..

billet basket

good aftermarket clutch..

import grey

blue locktight.

new clutch lock washer and new detent pin washer.

and a hot tank and or solvent tank.

optional is a full set of allen bolts for the side covers.  i prefer the OEM for top and bottom case.  unless its some big motor.

Ok thanks, now when assembling he parts onto the new/used bottom case is there, any kits I need to get when reinstalling the gears and parts from the cracked bottom case unto he new/used one??

Wait a minute. You're not replacing just the bottom half of the case, are you? You need matching case halves.

If I were you I'd go w a matched set of cases. They might all come from the same cast but there can be some differencesin the final machining or that's what I thought. Someone who knows more might give a better explanation.

Whoever told you you only need the bottom half is a screwball. Don't even let them wash your bike, let alone work on it. The bearing bores are bored after the case halves are bolted together. There will always be slight variations which will lead to bearing problems down the road.
