jody breeze Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 How hard is it to reassemble the bottom case back, trans, gears, and crankshaft?? I favorited a reassemble topic on here but all pics aren't showing Quote
Pastrykiller Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 All depends on your definition of "difficult". It's so easy a caveman can do it. the leakdown test will let you know if it wasn't sealed correctly. Quote
BigRed350x Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 Hey man, there is no reason the bottom end assembly walkthrough shouldn't be showing the pics, they are all still there. Try the link in my signature... -Jared 1 Quote

camatv Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 a modified transmission is best.. a good flywheel puller.. build a leak tester. new gaskets and seals. welded crankshaft.. billet basket good aftermarket clutch.. import grey blue locktight. new clutch lock washer and new detent pin washer. and a hot tank and or solvent tank. optional is a full set of allen bolts for the side covers. i prefer the OEM for top and bottom case. unless its some big motor. jody breeze Posted March 12, 2013 Author Report Posted March 12, 2013 ok I think im gonna just pay extra and get the mechanic friend to reinstall everything lol, but thanks Quote
Pastrykiller Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 It's really easier than you would think. Why spend a couple hundred dollars to have it rebuilt when you can use that money for go fast parts. Quote

Wait a minute. You're not replacing just the bottom half of the case, are you? You need matching case halves. Quote
jody breeze Posted March 12, 2013 Author Report Posted March 12, 2013 Yea I was told that I only need the bottom have it was cracked on the lockup Quote
tsharktim Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 If I were you I'd go w a matched set of cases. They might all come from the same cast but there can be some differencesin the final machining or that's what I thought. Someone who knows more might give a better explanation. Quote

Starwriter Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 Whoever told you you only need the bottom half is a screwball. Don't even let them wash your bike, let alone work on it. The bearing bores are bored after the case halves are bolted together. There will always be slight variations which will lead to bearing problems down the road. 2 Quote
