crf250man Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 Was taking my fly wheel off and bent a nob on my stator, think it will still work? Or should I get a new one? Quote
sheerider11 Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 How the hell did that happen? Quote
crf250man Posted February 27, 2013 Author Report Posted February 27, 2013 Lol first time taking one off and put a rod in the hole on the fly to hold it still. Now I know better but you think the stator will still work? Quote
sheerider11 Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 I'd throw the flywheel back on and see if it rubs. But I don't know, because when the magnets in the flywheel break up you get a lot of popping and misfires. So I don't know what a bent pole will do Quote
HolySheet Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 For the future a trick I use is to take a ratchet strap and wrap it around it. Then use a pair of vise grips to clamp the strap together real tight. Then it shouldn't turn. Quote
WINDYCITYJOHN400 Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 For an even better trick....spend the money on a clutch/flywheel tool. Quote
Pastrykiller Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 And add an impact wrench to the list. Quote
sheerider1026 Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 And some cold beer. Bent stator pole = out of phase stator.. Junk it. Quote
crf250man Posted February 28, 2013 Author Report Posted February 28, 2013 I got the impact wrench already, looks like ill junk it and get a new one. Quote
crf250man Posted February 28, 2013 Author Report Posted February 28, 2013 Anyone have a good recommendation on a new stator? Quote

ATVridinMaNiAc Posted February 28, 2013 Report Posted February 28, 2013 A filter wrench works decent too, specially the rubber ones. Quote
