sheerider11 Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 Caps and coil are good , i didnt test the stator tho since it was new in the box Ugh, I know it's brand new but just give it a shot. That's the biggest mistake. People never check the new parts because obviously, there new. Really your best bet is to test with a known good oem, because I believe stators can still test good or it may be coils, so I hope some one can come in and correct me. Quote
general_lee_banshee Posted February 25, 2013 Author Report Posted February 25, 2013 Yes my father also told me they can read good ohms and still be junk. Quote
general_lee_banshee Posted February 25, 2013 Author Report Posted February 25, 2013 The thing is its got a year waranty on it , ill call em up tomorow morning and tell em to send me another one , unfortunatly i dont have a good oem one . general_lee_banshee Posted February 25, 2013 Author Report Posted February 25, 2013 Yeah pretty impressive for electronic stuff, i even got told from one of my buddy outta town that he bought a stator from rm and chopped the wires then it went bad and they still replaced it. Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Check the connector plugs for continuity, I've bought new electronics and the terminals were only crimped to the insulation on the wires. And old ones could be corroded or have broken pins or loose female ends. Quote

Yes, I can't tell you how many pick up coils in HEI distributors I've changed when the car will run on one and not the other and they both test the same ohms. Quote
bansheesandrider Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 They both fall into the JUNK category. Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk 2 X2!!!!!!!!!!! OEM all the way! Quote
