trpkkd Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 I've been reading that advancing your timing gives you the most bang for your buck but is it worth it on a trail rider and are there any negatives to doing this? And if I do advance the timing should I go 4 degrees like everyone else? Quote
Nightmare Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 Its a great upgrade. If you want you can start at +2 and go from there but I wouldn't go past 4. Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk 2 Quote
trpkkd Posted February 24, 2013 Author Report Posted February 24, 2013 So its good even for a trail rider. Quote
HolySheet Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 My trail junk is +2 and its fine. Gives it a little more oomph. Quote
06BCBANSHEE Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 mines set up for trails and im at +4. You will feel a big difference Quote
trickedcarbine Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 +4 on good premium fuel is fine. Probably one of the best bangs for the buck for any bike, including your trail bike. It will help wih response and a little more torque. Quote
trpkkd Posted February 26, 2013 Author Report Posted February 26, 2013 Ok thanks for the input. Quote
sheerider1026 Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 I run +5.5 on the plate. Pump fuel Quote
10milmike Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 I run plus 7 on race gas. But for a stock bike I would run plus 4. Best bang for the buck. Quote
joewest Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 I just did +4 on mine and all i ride is trails and fields. Huge low and mid improvement! Only mods on my bike are fmf pipes, pro flow kit with k/n filter with lid removed. Quote
Uf21 Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Is the difference really noticeable or more like a placebo effect? Quote
joewest Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 I can tell a big difference in my low/mid range. Quote
notsed Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 you'll notice a difference for sure Quote
