houghkyle Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 Which is better? I heard you can get more hp (up to a certain amount) from a milled head vs. a cool head. Is there any truth behind this? Quote
sheerider11 Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 Cool head with custom cut domes for whatever fuel elevation pipes and porting Quote
houghkyle Posted February 8, 2013 Author Report Posted February 8, 2013 What if the head is being milled specifically for fuel, pipes, and porting? Quote
250rbanshee Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 There will be a lot of different answers on this. I prefer stock heads...milled and rechambered for my needs & for two reasons...it's cheaper and I like the stock look. Quote
2strokes4u Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 Well cool head gives you the option of changing domes. Just buy a new set and install them and keep it moving. as far as which has more power i'm not sure. If you want a sleeper motor then go with stock milled, if not then I would run cool head. JMO. shanYE west Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 Just milling a stock head is only doing 1 thing. Increasing compression.. To do it right, it needs to be re chambered. That being said. A cool head (after market head) and stock head are the same. But.. There is limitations with the stock head. Some profiles are not possible with a stock head and this is where some builders prefer cool heads. Quote
