vulvafan537240 Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 What's your elevation? I'm running 155 mains and 50 pilots on my cub with 35's. my pilots may be a little fat though. Quote
vulvafan537240 Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 I'd say 48's should be good Quote
Azryll Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 Do the metal idle screws scar your slides? I thought they were plastic/brass because of this. I hate the plastic cause they are a pain to adjust with a screwdriver without taking the left carb off but been using them cause I thought the other were bad for your slides. Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 Do the metal idle screws scar your slides? I thought they were plastic/brass because of this. I've never had a problem with scaring. But its not like I sit there and adjust them daily. I set them in once, adjusted once and haven't had to fool wirh them for a few seasons. Quote
Azryll Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 I meant from when you let off the throttle and the slides coming down on the metal idles screws. Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 Still good to go. Buy now. Haha Quote
Pastrykiller Posted January 22, 2013 Author Report Posted January 22, 2013 If you have pwk's and the idle screw is touching the side of your slide, you definitely have problems. If you unscrew the cap, there is a flange that the screw pushes up on. It is part of the slide but not the interal part. After being informed in the plastic versus metal, I just made some out of stainless steel and called it a day. Cost me less than 2 bucks for them. Quote
possum Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 Some pwks come with metal screws factory. Quote
Pastrykiller Posted January 23, 2013 Author Report Posted January 23, 2013 Gentlemen, I found the problem. The idle circuit on one of the carbs is not working correctly. It would chase an idle then die. No matter how much you adjusted it, the carb wouldn't act right until the needle came on. Kevin at hjr had me drop the bike off and he helped me diagnose the problem. Great guy to deal with and is willing to do whatever it takes to make his customers happy. Quote
