Crisp Jew Oven Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 New to the whole alky thing. Id like to get some lectron carbs but i dont know which size carbs to get. I will also need to know what domes i should get. I will also need a intake setup. Current setup is a 421 with drag port. Cpi inframes. I pretty mich use the Banshee for wide open running. Bottom end isnt a worry for me. Thanks Quote
Finch Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 Im going with 38/36 lects set up by packard on my 421 had quite a few knowledable people tell me it would work great with that motor. Im currently having wildcard custom cut some domes for me. Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2 Quote
BigRed350x Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 Anything from a 35-39 or even 40mm carb will work for what you're trying to do. Wide open throttle drag runs... you want to make as much air available to the engine as it wants to consume. Just keep in mind that as the carb size increases the signal across the dump tube will decrease. check out the jetting and exhaust forum, there's plenty of guys who have run the same setup you are asking about. -Jared Quote
banshee760 Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 Go 41 as lectrons don't loose that much snap as pwk do and call Matt shearer or redline to cut u custom domes and make some power , domes are also cut for the type of pipe and port combination that's why I suggest custom cuts as this will give UR setup optimal performance Quote
troyzstang Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 I'm also running 36/38 Lectrons. Motor is in line at Brandons waiting for Port work / Domes. I ran my previous set up this past season and will NEVER use any other carb set up. In my opinion Lectrons are the best option for Alky applications. Troy Quote
springer Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 i too have 36/38 lectrons. love em, but wouldn't mind finding a set of 41's. as for domes, dont even try to figure it out, just call a builder know for good ones and have them cut you some domes. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 What kind of drunk babbling shit is that? Quote
camatv Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 billet bowl. dual pj 40/40 or 41.3/44's OR DMR pj's can usually fuel a 421 pretty good. if its more of a rider 38's work fine or 36/38. my wifes 350 has 36/38 they are some of the most popular size in lectrons. if the cub runs worth a crap your going to need the extra fuel capacity. and not those goofy pj's that the openings are both at the same spot.. real dual pj's Quote
