RACxEMxWILLIE Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 Just swapped the single keihin for twin mikunis. 300 main 25 pilot needle in middle a/s is 1.25 turns out Did a 3rd gear WOT plug test and its a little lean. Should i change the pilot or move the needle up a slot? Quote
So Cal Banshee Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 first off, your post is confusing... lean at midrange.. but you did a WOT test?? Second need more info about your setup.. elevation, brand of pipes, porting, pods or airbox.. if lean @ WOT then bigger mains, if lean at midrange try raising needle/changing to different needle first, if that doesn't clear it up, look at the pilot (seems a little small..maybe 27.5/30 Quote
gotta_goatsfast Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 Yea.... how can you confirm that your carburetors are lean at part throttle when the test you used to determine this diagnosis was done at full throttle? Anyway, you've figured out your problem (its running lean) so go fatten it up a bit. Quote

Thats it. I live in georgia, so 1000 feet and I did a test in 3rd gear (half to 3/4 throttle). If i put WOT, i didnt mean to. Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 Get some 27.5 pilots put in those carbs, before trying anything else, then adjust your air mixture screws. Quote
